Jordi Naval, MSc, is the Founder and CEO at Anaxomics

Previously he was the Global Head of Post-Marketing Trials and Managing Director Southern Europe for RPS Inc, a leader global CRO, where he coordinated the global clinical research activities across different therapeutic areas. Jordi was from 1998 to 2008 Founder and CEO at Infociencia, the leader Spanish Clinical Research Organization, where he managed a team of more than 120 specialists.
Jordi has a degree in Pharmacy and in Biochemistry, and PhD studies in molecular vaccines.

Patrick Aloy, MSc, PhD

Dr Patrick Aloy is an ICREA Research Professor and Principal Investigator of the Structural Systems Biology lab at the IRB. He obtained his BSc in Biochemistry, MSc in Biotechnology and PhD in Computational Biology by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, and spent six years as postdoctoral researcher and staff scientist at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg, Germany.
For fourteen years, Dr Aloy has been developing and implementing new technologies and algorithms, applying state-of-the-art methods to specific problems and bridging the gap between theoretical models and experiments in different disciplines. Dr Aloy has over 50 publications in first-rate journals, with over 2300 citations and remarkable press coverage, illustrating the scientific and social relevance of the work.

José Manuel Mas, PhD, Co-founder of Anaxomics

Currently holding the position of Head of Collaborative Research Department at RPS Inc, a leader global CRO, which collaborates with universities and other companies in the discovery of new drugs. Founder and Scientific Advisor in the area of Systems Biology for Anaxomics. J.M.Mas was a Founder and from 1998 to 2008 a Technical Director at Infociencia, the leading Spanish CRO that is employing more than 120 experts.

José Manuel has a degree in Biochemistry, Master in Biotechnology and PhD in Biocomputing specialized in protein structure, drug design and Systems Biology, in possession of 2 patents and more than 30 scientific papers.

Dr Xavier Gomis

Dr. Gomis-Rüth studied organic chemistry at the Chemical Institute of Sarrià (IQS, Barcelona, Spain) and he obtained his B.Sc. (1988) and M.Sc. (1989) there before moving to the Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB, Martinsried, Germany), where he made his Ph.D. in protein crystallography in the lab of 1988-Nobel laureate Robert Huber (1992).

Postdoctoral stays at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), the MPIB, and the Molecular Biology Institute of Barcelona (IBMB) of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) followed before he got a tenured Assistant Professor position at the latter institution.

Since 2008, he is Research Professor CSIC, Director of the Department of Structural Biology of the IBMB, and Head of the Proteolysis Lab at the IBMB, which is located at the premises of the Barcelona Science Park (PCB).

The Proteolysis Lab currently encompasses nine researchers and is centered on the study of proteins by molecular and structural biology to ascertain structure-function relationships following an experimental approach.
